Durdanto Dhaka (DD) will lock horns with the Khulna Tigers (KHT) in the 33rd match of the Bangladesh Premier League 2024 at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on February 16. Durdanto Dhaka have been struggling this season and with just one win, they are at the bottom of the table. Khulna Tigers, on the other hand, have won four of their nine games and are ranked fifth in the table.

Durdanto Dhaka had played against Fortune Barishal in their last encounter where Fortune Barishal won the toss and elected to bat. Barishal started well with an opening partnership of 76 runs. They had a couple of good partnerships ahead as well and kept a good scoring rate throughout which made them reach a total of 186. Dhaka did not start well with the chase and had lost three wickets within two overs. Alex Ross played a superb knock of 89 off 49 balls but his knock went in vain as the team lost by 27 runs.

Khulna Tigers had played against Comilla Victorians in their last encounter where Khulna Tigers won the toss and elected to bat. They started decently and were scoring well. Almost all of their top and middle-order batters got starts but none of them could capitalise on it and they were not able to get the finish they desired. They set up a decent target of 165 runs in reply of which Victorians lost a wicket early but did not back down. Towhid Hridoy played a match-winning knock of 91 runs as they won the game by seven wickets with 21 balls to spare.

Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium offers a pitch that is helpful to batters in nature. Slower balls and off-cutters can be good weapons in the arsenal of the bowlers. It would be a good contest between the bat and the ball here. Teams prefer to chase the total after winning the toss with the average first innings score being 169.
