CECC will take on Al Hajery Team XI in the first match of the Kuwait T20 Elite Cup 2024 on Friday (January 5) at the Sulaibiya Cricket Ground in Kuwait. This is the second edition of the tournament.

CECC won one out of seven matches last season and finished in the second last position. They defeated Kuwait Under-19 in their last match by nine wickets after chasing down the target of 59 runs in just 3.5 overs. Rifkaz Mohamed took three wickets for three runs in two overs and won the Player of the Match award.

Al Hajery won three out of their seven matches and finished in the fifth place last season. They faced Almulla Exchange CC in their last outing in the previous season. Al Hajery made 177 runs for the loss of two wickets while batting first in 20 overs. Usman Waheed scored 83 runs off 48 deliveries for the team. Almulla Exchange chased down the target of 178 runs in 18 overs with five wickets in hand.

In their last game against each in the first edition of the tournament, Al Hajery defeated CECC by eight wickets. CECC could manage only 105 runs while batting first. Al Hajery chased down the target of 106 runs in 13 overs.
