After registering a massive 154-run win in the ODI series opener, Bangladesh Women (BAN-W) will take on the Ireland Women (IRE-W) in the second ODI of the three-match series. The game will be played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on November 30, at 9:30 AM (IST). It will be a must-win clash from the perspective of both teams.

BAN-W completely outplayed the Irish side in the first ODI of the series played at the same venue. Nigar Sultana and Co. posted a total of 252 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the allotted 50 overs owing to the brilliant 96-run knock played by their ‘number 3’ batter Sharmin Akhter. Akhter scored 96 runs off 89 balls, hitting 14 fours.

While chasing the target, Ireland Women couldn’t survive for too long against the hosts’ bowling attack and they were bundled out at the score of just 98 runs in 28.5 overs. BAN’s Sultana Khatun and Nahida Akter scalped 3 wickets each, alongside two wickets claimed by Marufa Akter. Eventually, Bangladesh Women won the match by 154 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

With that said, Bangladesh Women will aim to win the second ODI and secure a series win with an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the three-match series. On the other hand, Gaby Lewis-led Irish Women will be eyeing winning this game and levelling the series by 1-1.

Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur has a bowling-friendly deck, mostly for the spinners in the first half of the game. However, the batters could feel a bit of ease here in the second half of the game.
