Auckland Aces will be fighting against Wellington Firebirds in the 13th match of the Super Smash T20 2024 at the Kennards Hire Community Oval in Auckland on January 4. Both the teams have played four games each, with Auckland Aces being in the third spot, having won just one of the matches they played. Wellington Firebirds are ruling the points table, having won three matches.

Auckland Aces last fought with Otago Volts, where Otago Volts won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting from Auckland Aces, Robert O’Donnell scored 35 runs, followed by Sean Solia, who scored 20 runs. The team scored 151 runs at the loss of nine wickets at the end of their innings. When Otago Volts came to bat, Dean Foxcroft scored the highest (51) runs, which was followed by Hamish Rutherford, who scored 32 runs. Otago Volts chased their target easily with the loss of seven wickets and won the match by three wickets. 

Wellington Firebirds last locked horns with Northern Districts, where Wellington Firebirds won the toss and chose to bat. Tom Blundell scored the highest (71) runs, followed by Mohammad Arslan Abbas, who scored 23 runs. They lost eight wickets and scored 177 runs at the end of their inning. When Northern Districts came to bat, Jeet Raval scored the highest (62) runs, which was then followed by Tim Pringle, who scored 30 runs. The team could not chase the target and could score 154 runs at the loss of eight wickets, and Wellington Firebirds won the match by 23 runs.

Pacers are expected to do well on this ground with some assistance offered from the pitch. Batters can look to play their shots after they are set.
