WPL 2025: Predicting Delhi Capitals Women’s Playing XI for the finals against Mumbai Indians Women

After qualifying for the third successive WPL final, Delhi Capitals Women are set to take on the inaugural champions of the tournament, Mumbai Indians Women in the WPL 2025 final. Mumbai’s Brabourne Stadium will host the summit clash on Saturday, March 15, at 8:00 PM (IST).

Meg Lanning and Co. ended as the table leaders in the tournament’s league stage, with five wins and three defeats in their eight games. They are coming off a 5-wicket defeat against GG-W in their last league match. Now, the Capitals Women will be aiming to end their wait of lifting the WPL title after qualifying in the three successive editions of the tournament.

Given that, here we’ll have a look at the predicted playing XI of the Delhi Capitals Women for the final game against the Mumbai Indians Women

Openers – Meg Lanning (C) and Shafali Varma

The opening pair of the skipper Meg Lanning and blistering batter Shafali Varma displayed an amazing partnership in the last game against GG-W. The duo stitched a fiery opening partnership of 83 runs in just 9 overs. Shafali Varma scored 40 runs off just 27 balls, hitting three fours and three sixes.

On the other hand, Lanning played an amazing knock of 92 runs off just 57 balls, with 15 fours and a six. So, the opening pair will be unchanged for Delhi Capitals Women in their next clash against Mumbai Indians Women.

Middle-Order – Jess Jonassen, Jemimah Rodrigues, Sarah Bryce (WK), and Niki Prasad

The middle order of the DC-W will start with the number three batter Jess Jonassen; she failed to play a big knock in the last game against GG-W but the Aussie star can make a strong comeback in the next game for her side. She will be followed by Jemimah Rodrigues who can also add some crucial runs with the bat while batting in the middle order.

Wicketkeeper-batter Sarah Bryce and Niki Prasad might be there in the playing XI to bat at number five and number six. Besides that, their batting position might also be shuffled with the star all-rounders Annabel Sutherland and Marizanne Kapp.

All-Rounders – Annabel Sutherland and Marizanne Kapp

The all-rounder duo for DC-W in the final against MI-W might include Annabel Sutherland and Marizanne Kapp as the specialist all-rounders. However, Sutherland couldn’t leave a mark both with the bat and the ball as she scored 14 runs with the bat in the first innings and failed to scalp any wicket in the second innings.

However, Marizanne Kapp was quite economical with the ball despite the team’s five-wicket defeat. She conceded only 29 runs in her four overs, including a maiden over to her credit. She can also score some impactful runs in the lower middle order to help DC-W post a big total.

Bowlers – Shikha Pandey, Minnu Mani, and Titas Sadhu

The bowling attack of the Delhi Capitals Women for the title clash against MI-W might include two out-and-out medium pacers in Shikha Pandey and Titas Sadhu, alongside the specialist off-spinner Minnu Mani. Shikha Pande scalped 2 wickets at 31 runs in her four overs in the last game against GG-W, alongside Minnu Mani scalping a wicket at 15 runs in her two overs.

However, Titas Sadhu couldn’t claim any wickets; so, she will also be looking ahead for a comeback in the final to help her side clinch the WPL 2025 title.
