Women’s T20 League 2023: Top 3 emerging players of the season

The Women’s T20 League has been a wonderful tournament to watch. The foreign players have had a great tournament and dominated but also the young guns of India have shown what they are capable of in the league. The likes of Saika Ishque, Kiran Navgire and the likes have put in good performances. The crowd support has been superb in the tournament and people have turned up to watch the games.

The games have been good to watch and because of the reduction in the boundary size, there have been many high scoring totals and encounters in the Women’s T20 League.  This has been a great opportunity for the domestic players of India to interact with the foreign players. Here are a look at three emerging players from the Women’s T20 League. These players have made a name for themselves in the tournament

3. Parshasvi Chopra

In a match against Gujarat, Prashasvi Chopra  showed what she was capable of as she dismissed Ashliegh Gardner and Dylan Hemalatha in one over. She bowled over number 17 at the death and picked up big wickets. This was just her second game in the Women’s T20 League. Her stock ball is googly. In that game, it was wonderful of Alyssa Healy to trust the young leg spinner  to bowl at the death.

2. Shreyanka Patil

Shreyanka Patil got to play in Bangalore’s second game, she made 23 off 15 balls with four fours. In Bangalore’s third game against UP, she picked up 2-32 in her four overs.She has also scored handy runs for Bangalore with the bat when needed. She batted lower down the order for the franchise, if the franchise feels that she can deliver more, then, she can bat higher for the franchise in the next season.

1. Issy Wong

 Izzy Wong became the first player in the Women’s T20 League to take a hattrick against UP in the eliminator. She dismissed Kiran Navgire, Simran Shaikh and Sophie Ecclestone. She is a right arm fast bowler for the England Women’s side. She also played for the Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash and for Birmingham Phoenix in the Hundred.Performances like this will help cement her place in the England side.
