Women’s T20 League 2023: Top 3 best batters of the tournament

The inaugural edition of the Women’s T20 League has given us so many remarkable performances from Women cricketers around the world. The tournament is finally towards its conclusion with the season’s final match, all set to take place between Mumbai and Delhi at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on March 26th. Delhi advanced to the final after finishing at the top position on the points table, while Mumbai defeated UP in the eliminator by 72 runs. 

We witnessed many high scores in the first week of the tournament. There are many players who turned out to be the match winners for their franchises with their batting. Let’s have a look at the top three batters of the tournament.

The English batter turned out to be an asset for the Mumbai franchise who not only scored crucial runs but also came as a handy bowler who could take big wickets. Natalie Sciver played a huge role coming to bat at number four amassing 272 runs from nine matches with an average of 54.40 including two half-centuries. She is the third-highest run-getter in the tournament with the best score of 72 not out off 38 balls in the eliminator against the UP franchise.

Tahila McGrath

The Australian allrounder has scored the most half-centuries (4) in the first edition of the Women’s T20 League. Tahila McGrath is the second-highest run-getter of the tournament who played a pivotal role for the UP franchise in the middle order. The 27-year-old has amassed 302 runs from nine matches averaging at 50.33 with an impressive strike rate of 158.12.

Meg Lanning

Leading from the front, Meg Lanning not only led the Delhi franchise to the finals of the inaugural but also is the leading run-scorer of the tournament so far. Lanning scored 310 runs from eight matches with an average of 51.67 and a strike rate of 141.55. The Australian skipper will be looking to lead Delhi to the title in the inaugural season of the tournament.
