The role of an all-rounder is very crucial in cricket. In fact, good all-rounders are always a blessing to any team irrespective of the format of the game. Over the years, we have seen many quality all-rounders playing pivotal roles for their respective teams in international cricket and franchise leagues.

Women’s cricket has a slew of high-quality all-rounders who are an indispensable part of their respective teams. Here we are looking at the ranking top three most successful all-rounders in women’s cricket.

1. Ellyse Perry

Australian cricketer Ellyse Perry is one of the greatest all-rounders in the history of women’s cricket. The 32-year-old has put in several match-winning performances for her national team in T20Is and ODIs. Perry has taken 122 wickets in 139 T20Is and 161 wickets in 131 ODIs. In batting, she has scored 1535 runs in short format and 3386 runs in 50 overs. With her exceptional performance on the field, Perry is currently ranked 3rd in the Cricket Governing Body’s Women’s ODI all-rounder rankings and 9th in the T20I rankings.

The Aussie star has recently made the world record for playing the most number of matches in the history of T20 World Cups. She also played a key role in Australia’s sixth T20 World Cup victory, starting the tournament with a 22-ball 40 against New Zealand.

2. Hayley Matthews

West Indies captain Hayley Mathews is someone who leads her team from the front in both batting and bowling. Her amazing captain’s innings (66*) led West Indies to a Women’s T20 World Cup victory over Ireland in Cape Town. The Caribbean player currently tops the list of women’s all-rounders in ODIs with 373 points and is second in the T20I rankings with 395 points. The 24-year-old has scored 1915 runs and took 89 wickets in 75 ODIs. She has also scored 1581 runs and picked 78 wickets from 82 matches in T20.

3. Ashleigh Gardner

Ashley Gardner, the current world’s best all-rounder, recently played a crucial role in Australia’s T20 WC-winning campaign. Ash Gardner was adjudged Player of the Series for her brilliant performances with bat and ball throughout the tournament. She picked 10 wickets at an economy of 6.25 and smashed 110 runs at an average of 36.

The off-spinner and hard-hitting batter has taken 53 wickets from 73 T20Is at an average of under 20. She has also scored 1176 runs at a strike rate of 132.43. The 25-year-old is also dominant in ODIs, currently ranked seventh in the cricket governing body’s 50-over format rankings.
