Indian cricket has been blessed with some of the most exciting talents in the world. India currently boasts numerous of the most incredible talents in the sport. Some of them have already established themselves by performing in both domestic cricket and the Indian T20 League. While many are knocking on the national selectors’ doors with their performances. Today we will talk about those amazing talents who have smashed the doors of the National Team and will soon wear the Blue.
The 25-year-old Kumar Kartikeya is one of the best wrist spinners in the Indian domestic circuits. He has been phenomenal in domestic season for the last couple of years. Kartikeya joined the Mumbai franchise as an injury replacement in 2022 and has clinched five wickets in four games. However, he continued his golden run with a bowl for Madhya Pradesh in domestics.
The left-arm wrist spinner took 32 wickets in the Ranji Trophy 2021-22 and 33 wickets in the 2022-23 season of the prestigious tournament. He has been consistent with the bowl and can play an extensive role for Mumbai in the upcoming season of the Indian T20 League.
2. Shams Mulani
The 25-year-old Mumbai all-rounder had a great Ranji Trophy 2021–22 season, scoring 321 runs in 6 matches with five fifty-plus scores while taking 45 wickets—the most in the competition. Following that, Mulani also contributed to West Zone winning their record-breaking 19th title in the Duleep Trophy. As he scored 167 runs in three matches and took 11 wickets too.
In the recently concluded Ranji Trophy season 2022-23, Mulani once again shined with both bat and ball. The left-arm spinner took 46 wickets becoming second highest in the season. He also scored 209 runs with the bat too. Given his left-handed batting and left-arm spin abilities, he might be India’s replacement for an ageing Ravindra Jadeja.
Sarfraz Khan is one of the most aggressive batters in the domestic circuits of India. With his reliable and fantastic domestic performances, Sarfaraz is knocking on the doors of the National Team. Although, surprisingly in the recent series he was not even considered the team management. Talking about his performance, Sarfaraz was a leading run scorer in the Ranji Trophy season 2021-22 with 982 runs in six games including four centuries and two half-centuries.
Sarfaraz continued his form and scored an important century for West Zone in the Duleep Trophy finals last year. In the most recent season of the Ranji Trophy, the 25-year-old Mumbai batter scored 556 runs in six Matches including three centuries and one fifty-plus score. Sarfaraz failed to make it into the Test squad against Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
