Top three highest individual scores in Women’s ODI

Women’s cricket has exponentially risen over the last few years, with many of the game’s stars going on to script history. Notably, way before men’s cricket, Australia’s Belinda Clark hammered the first-ever double century in Women’s One-Day Internationals. Although, it took 21 years for female cricket to get another double century. However, today in this article we will discuss the top 3 highest individual scores in women’s ODIs.

1. 232* Amelia Kerr vs Ireland (June 2018)

Amelia Kerr

During New Zealand’s tour of England and Ireland in 2018, Amelia Kerr broke Belinda Clark’s 21-year-old record for the highest individual score. Even though New Zealand had already surpassed all previous ODI records in the first game of the series, Kerr went on an absolute beast mode against Ireland as she scored an unbeaten 232 off 145 balls at a strike rate of 160.

She guided her team to their third 400+ score of the series as Ireland was forced to chase 440 runs scored by the Kiwis. Kerr with her absolute batting performance became one of the top scorers across the Men’s and women’s cricket. She also picked five wickets in the same game and lead Kiwis from front.

2. 229* Belinda Clark vs Denmark (December 1997)

Former Australia captain Belinda Clark wrote her own chapter in history during the 1997 Women’s World Cup when she hammered first ever double century in Women’s ODI cricket. Clark hammered Denmark brutually and scored an unbeaten 229 against a weak bowling attack. With a strike rate of more than 145 Clark needed just 155 balls to reach the historic total.

Clark guided her team to a massive total of 412 runs with the help of her opening partner Lisa Keightley and later Karen Rolton. As a result, Denmark was dismissed for only 49 runs. Notably, Australia has won four out of six ODI world Cup’s in women’s cricket.
