Top three fastest Indian bowlers of all-time

Indian cricket team has been famous for top-notch batters and highly competent spinners. Although, over the past few years, India have produced some of the great fast bowlers who have been ruling all over the world. Also in the past, there were some top-fast bowlers who made India win many matches. Although Indian fast bowlers are not famous for their speed, here is a list of India’s fastest bowlers of all time in international cricket.

3. Zaheer Khan– 145 kmph

Former pacer Zaheer Khan was one of the pivotal fast bowlers for the Indian team. He was an asset for the Indian team with the new ball and was also the expert of reverse-swing with old ball.

With 610 wickets in more than 300 international matches in his career, bowled his fastest delivery of 145 kmph in a Test match against Zimbabwe in 2002. Zaheer has played 92 Tests, 200 ODIs and 17 T20Is for India, with 311 wickets in Tests, 282 in ODIs and 17 in T20Is

2. Ajit Agarkar– 145.5 kmph

The former Indian cricketer is not only the third-highest wicket-taker in ODIs for India (288)but also holds the record for the fastest half-century by an Indian in the format (21 balls). Ajit Agarkar was known for his ability to swing the ball both ways. His fastest delivery was clocked at 145.4 kmph in an ODI match against Zimbabwe in 2002.

He scalped 2 wickets in that match conceding only 28 runs in his 10 overs. However, India lost that match as Zimbabwe chased the target of 192 runs in 44.2 overs. Agarkar has represented India in 26 Tests, 191 ODIs, and 4 T20Is, taking 349 wickets and scoring 1855 runs across the formats

1. Javagal Srinath – 157 kmph

Javagal Srinath

The former right arm holds the record for the fastest bowled by an Indian in international cricket. During the 1996-97 tour of South Africa, one of Srinath’s delivery clocked at 157 kmph, and the record is yet to be broken by any other Indian pacer at the international level.

He became India’s pace spearhead after Kapil Dev nad lead the Indian pace attack in the decade of 1990s. Srinath has appeared in 67 Tests and 229 ODIs for India taking 551 wickets across the formats.
