Bangladesh made their first appearance in the World Cups in 1999. The cricketing nation from the South Asian region caused a major upset in the tournament as they beat the eventual runner ups Pakistan. Further in 2007, the Men in Green beat India, resulting in the exit of their neighbors. They created many such upsets in the following tournaments before making it to the quarter final stage of 2015 world cup, which also happens to be their best performance in a World Cup. Here are the top run scorers for Bangladesh in the ODI world cups.

The southpaw has the most runs for a batter in the ODI world cup among active cricketers. The 36-year-old has represented Bangladesh in four world cups from 2007 to 2019. The Jessore-born all-rounder is well-known for his sensational performance in the 2019 World Cup, where he scored 606 runs in 8 matches and finished the campaign as the third-highest run-scorer. Shakib has played 29 matches and scored 1146 runs at an average of 45.84, at a strike rate of 82.26, including two hundred in the world cup.

2. Mushfiqur Rahim

Mushfiqur Rahim is regarded as the greatest wicket keeper batter ever from Bangladesh. The Bogra-born wicketkeeper batter has represented Bangladesh in four world cup tournaments from 2007 to 2019. The 36-year-old has the most runs for a wicketkeeper batter in the ODI world cup among the active cricketers. Rahim has played 29 matches and scored 877 runs at an average of 38.13, at a strike rate of 79.43, including a hundred in the World Cup.

Deemed the greatest batter from Bangladesh, Tamim Iqbal is the third-highest run scorer for Bangladesh in the World Cup. The Southpaw has represented Bangladesh in four world cup tournaments from 2007 to 2019. The 34-year-old has played 29 matches and scored 718 runs at an average of 24.75, at a strike rate of 73.11, including 4 fifties in the world cup.
