The ‘Big Show’ holds the record for the highest individual score in BBL history. Glenn Maxwell achieved this feat in 2022 when he played a breathtaking knock against Hobart Hurricanes. He smashed an unbeaten 154-run knock opening the innings which eventually became a major factor behind Melbourne Stars’ comprehensive victory.

Marcus Stoinis – 147* vs Sydney Sixers, 2020

Here is another batter from Melbourne Stars who features in this list. Marcus Stoinis made an unbeaten 147 runs against Sydney Sixers in 2020 which is the second highest individual score in BBL history. He played this knock in the first innings which led Melbourne to a massive score and that proved to be too much for the opposition. 

Josh Brown – 140 vs Adelaide Strikers, 2024

Josh Brown, the Brisbane Heat opener, recently smashed an explosive century against Adelaide Strikers. Brown scored these runs off just 57 deliveries at a mind-boggling strike rate of 245.61. Heat won the match in the end and Brown was awarded the player of the match for his batting contribution. 

Matthew Wade – 130* vs Adelaide Strikers, 2020

The Australian wicketkeeper-batter is also among those names with the highest individual scores. Matthew Wade scored 130 runs against Adelaide Strikers in a show of his class and destruction as an opening batter. It was a narrow win for Hobart and Wade’s century proved to be decisive in the end.

Ben McDermott – 127 vs Melbourne Renegades, 2021

The Hobart Hurricanes opener played a match-winning knock for Hobart Hurricanes against Melbourne Renegades in 2021. Ben McDermott’s knock was special as there was no support from the other end but McDermott stood strong and led his team beyond the 200-run mark.
