Top 3 players DC can target in IPL 2024 mini-auction

Delhi Capitals had a disappointing campaign in the last season as they finished in the 9th position on the points table and failed to qualify for the playoff. The DC management would be desperate to course correct this time and once again qualify for the playoff. They have a great opportunity to plug the loopholes in the squad in the upcoming mini-auction. In this article, we will take a look at the top 3 players DC can target in the IPL 2024 mini-auction.

#1. Pat Cummins

Pat Cummins

The Australian skipper has registered himself for the IPL mini-auction and this is great news for Delhi Capitals. They had a poor show with the ball last time and that would be an area of focus for the management. DC has released Mustafizur Rahman before the auction and Pat Cummins would be a fantastic addition for them. He is someone who can make DC a lethal fast bowling unit along with the likes of Anrich Nortje and Lungi Ngidi. Cummins also contributes with the bat in the lower order which is another incentive for going behind the player.

#2. Shahrukh Khan

Shahrukh Khan

This is a very unique bet but Shahrukh Khan would be a smart buy for Delhi Capitals if they can get him for a reasonable price. Shahrukh is a hard-hitting middle-order batter and DC has very few credible Indian middle-order batting options apart from Rishabh Pant. Shahrukh, if in form, would be a perfect choice to complement captain Rishabh Pant and all-rounder Axar Patel in the middle order.

#3. Finn Allen

Rishabh Pant would be making a comeback after a long lay-off because of the unfortunate accident. Delhi needs to have a reliable backup wicketkeeping option considering Rishabh Pant’s comeback after injury. Allen is an impressive young batter who also keeps wickets and he can be a significant buy for the Capitals. Delhi has released players like Phil Salt and Sarfaraz Khan which makes it likely for them to go for a backup wicketkeeper option.
