Top 3 players CSK can target in IPL 2024 mini-auction

Chennai Super Kings is currently holding the IPL title, having won the 2023 season. With this, the team is joint-most successful team alongside Mumbai Indians with five trophies. Talking about the team ahead of the IPL 2024 player auction on December 19, the team has retained most of their players and released a few. Meanwhile, ahead of the auction, we will look at three players which CSK will target.

Three players Chennai Super Kings will target during the auction

1. Manish Pandey

The former India player has played for a lot of teams in his IPL career. The last he played for the Delhi Capitals and has been released by the 2020 finalists. With the retirement of Ambati Rayudu, there is a vacancy for a middle-order spot. 

With the experience of Pandey in the league and the ability of the franchise to get the best out of their players. The same has happened with the other players and the same can happen with the discarded India player although his playing career is at the down hill.

2. Shivam Mavi

The right-arm pacer has been released by Gujarat Titans and has been part of a few teams but hasn’t played many games due to injury and form. Talking about the Yellow Brigade, they lack in fast bowling department a bit. Also, Mavi can bat at the tail end of the innings. A player like him can be useful for the team with the ball and bat.

3. Obed McCoy

The West Indies international has been released by Rajasthan Royals. Last season, he didn’t play many games as he was coming off an injury. As he has been part of the Barbados Royals (RRs subsidiary), the 2008 winners might want to buy him back. However, CSK would like to grab his services given his ability to bowl well at the death
