Top 3 player battles to watch out for in CSK vs RCB in IPL 2025 match

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) head to Chennai to end their jinx of not beating Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at their own backyard. RCB last beat CSK in Chepauk during the 2008 IPL and has since lost each match at the venue, including the first match of the IPL 2024 season game.

3- Josh Hazlewood versus Rachin Ravindra

Hazlewood will be a key bowler with the new ball and he also has the experience of playing for CSK in the past. Rachin Ravindra has been in prime form with the bat, as seen during the CT2025 campaign. The youngster scored an amazing fifty with the bat in the season opening game versus Mumbai Indians. 

2- Noor Ahmad vs Rajat Patidar

Afghanistan spinner Noor Ahmad was the key bowler for CSK in their game against the Mumbai Indians. The left-arm wrist spinner got four wickets for just 18 runs from his four overs. Ahmad was used well by Gaikwad as he got some of the big names in the Mumbai Indians’ batting unit. RCB skipper Rajat Patidar is an excellent player of spin as it was seen during the IPL 2024 season and the subsequent Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament. The battle between Ahmad and Patidar will be the one that could turn the match around.

The biggest battle that the fans will be looking forward to is between Virat Kohli and Ravichandran Ashwin. The two players had shared the dressing room for over a decade and know each other well. Kohli has always been a suspect starter against spin, as seen in the CT2025 final when he was out for one run to Michael Bracewell. Ashwin, on the other hand, is more than handy with the ball, as seen in the game against MI. The 38-year-old has shown no signs of rust with the ball as he displayed his skills and picked the key wicket of Will Jacks.
