Top 3 performances of Kuldeep Yadav in IPL

Kuldeep Yadav has been an asset for multiple franchises in the IPL. He gained his name with a brilliant stint for Kolkata Knight Riders where he established himself as a young wrist arm spinner. He is now with Delhi Capitals and the franchise would expect him to deliver in the upcoming season. In this article, we will shed some light on his top 3 performances in IPL.

1. 4/14 vs Kolkata Knight Riders, 2022

Kuldeep Yadav delivered his best bowling performance in the IPL against his former franchise Kolkata Knight Riders. The left-arm wrist spinner took the opposition by surprise in a group-stage match of the 2022 season at the Wankhede Stadium. He dismissed Shreyas Iyer, Baba Indrajith, Sunil Narine, and Andre Russell among others to weaken the KKR batting order in the first innings. As a result of Kuldeep’s heroics KKR could only manage to score 146 runs in the first innings which was chased down by Delhi in the second innings with 4 wickets in hand.

2. 4/20 vs Rajasthan Royals, 2018

This superb spell was bowled by the clever wrist spinner in the 2018 season against Rajasthan Royals at KKR’s home ground Eden Gardens. Dinesh Karthik invited Rajasthan to bat first after winning the toss and restricted them to 142 runs. Kuldeep emerged as the leading wicket-taker for Kolkata with 4 wickets in his account which included the dismissals of Ajinkya Rahane, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, and Stuart Binny.

3. 3/35 vs Sunrisers Hyderabad, 2016

Kuldeep picked up these 3 wickets against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the eliminator match of the 2016 season, although KKR unfortunately lost this match. He got these wickets in the first innings to prevent a solid SRH batting unit from posting a huge total on the board in a knockout match. David Warner, Moises Henriques, and Ben Cutting had no clue as to what the wrist opener was bowling and ultimately lost their wickets. Kuldeep’s crucial contribution gave KKR an edge at the end of the first innings but his team could not chase down the target in the second innings.
