Faf Du Plessis is one of the best ODI batters in the history of South African cricket. The South African former number 3 was very good at playing pace. Even against spin, Faf rotated the strike well. 1. 133(115) against India in Mumbai 2015

It was the decider of the series between India and South Africa at Wankhede. On a belter of a wicket, South Africa won the toss and decided to bat first. The dismissal of Hashim Amla got Du Plessis in the middle. The South African captain took on the bowlers and scored runs at a brisk rate. In 1 deliveries, Du Plessis scored 133 runs, including 9 boundaries and 6 sixes. Du Plessis had to retire due to an injury, but his knock ensured South Africa’s victory.

2. 106(98) against Australia in Harare 2014  

It was the second match of the Zimbabwe Triangular Series between Australia and South Africa in Harare. On a good batting wicket, Australia posted a good total of 327 runs on the board. Chasing a big total, South Africa lost both their openers quickly. Du Plessis, partnered by Ab De Villiers, was involved in chasing the big total. The South African number 3 scored 106(98) and helped South Africa to chase the total.

3. 100(94) against Australia in Manchester 2019 

It was the last match of the 2019 ODI World Cup for South Africa, who had an otherwise forgettable campaign. On a good batting wicket in Manchester, South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first. The opening duo of Aiden Markram and Quinton De Kock posted 79 runs for the first wicket. Du Plessis entered the middle and played his shots. The South African captain played his best knock in the World Cup and scored a fabulous ton. South Africa eventually won the match by just 10 runs.
