Shane Watson – 124* in 2016

Shane Watson’s unbeaten knock is the highest individual score by an Australian against India in T20 cricket. He played this innings in the 3rd match of the 2016 T20 series between the two teams. Watson was captaining the Aussies in that match and he elected to bat first after winning the toss. 

Australia put up 197 runs on the board in the first innings and Watson made a crucial contribution by scoring an unbeaten 124 runs. Australia eventually lost the match but this remains Shane Watson’s best knock of his T20 career. 

Glenn Maxwell – 113* in 2019

Glenn Maxwell is known for his explosive batting, especially in this format. Maxwell played this knock in a series-winning cause. In the second match of the 2-match T20 series, Maxwell played this blinder to help Australia chase a challenging target of 191. 

Even after initial hiccups, Maxwell guided Australia to a victory by 7 wickets. D’Arcy Short played a vital cameo to assist Glenn Maxwell in a daunting run chase.

Aaron Finch – 89 in 2013

Aaron Finch played this brilliant knock in a one-off T20 match at Rajkot in 2013. The Australians batted first as India elected to field after winning the toss. Aaron Finch along with his opening partner Nic Maddinson put up 56 runs for the opening stand. Finch carried on the momentum that he got in the powerplay even after a few blows in quick succession. Finch’s contribution was instrumental in Australia putting more than 200 runs on the board as there was not much assistance from the other end.
