On number three, kickstarting this list is one of Kolkata’s most recognised captains, Gautam Gambhir. One of the IPL’s most successful captains, Gambhir has won a total of two Indian T20 League titles. He is a captain who leads the attack and isn’t hesitant to lay the groundwork for an experiment. Gambhir’s team management is a wonderful example for other captains to follow. In the years 2012 and 2014, his deployment of Sunil Narine at Kolkata helped the team win two Indian T20 League crowns. MS Dhoni, one of the greatest athletes to ever compete in this sport, is the second most successful skipper in Indian T20 League history. The Indian superstar has won the most league games overall while representing two franchises – Chennai and Pune. Dhoni has four Indian T20 League titles under his belt – 2010, 2011, 2018 and 2021. He has also led the Pune team while Chennai was suspended from the coveted league for two years due to match-fixing scandals. He made a comeback in 2018 and led Chennai to a title win with an experienced team. With his bat, keeping skills, and well-known leadership abilities, Dhoni led his squad as a genuine captain.
1. Rohit Sharma, Mumbai
Rohit Sharma, a.k.a. “hitman,” is the captain of the Mumbai franchise in the Indian T20 League and is regarded as one of the league’s most successful captains. With his Mumbai squad, Rohit Sharma, who is well known for his explosive hitting and big sixes, has won five league titles so far. Who can forget the IPL finals in 2013 and 2017? He is renowned for being an awesome captain, even under pressure. Thanks to Rohit’s cool demeanour and wise choices, Mumbai has always been a contender to win the trophy. The legendary way that Rohit supports his teammates has allowed Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya to rise to the top of the game.
