Without a doubt, Sachin Tendulkar is the greatest cricket player in history. He holds numerous records and leads the record books in both ODI and Test cricket for runs scored. Tendulkar was a professional batter for about 24 years. In these years, he gave many jaw-dropping performances. Here’s an attempt at ranking his three most memorable innings.
3. 98 vs Pakistan
The meetings between India and Pakistan are always exciting to watch. These battles would be considerably more compelling if they took place during the World Cup. A World Cup match in 2003 had one such game. In just 50 overs, Pakistan reached a whopping 273/7. In response, India made a strong start but soon ran into trouble after losing two wickets in a row. But Tendulkar maintained his composure and continued to bat well. He destroyed bowlers all over the stadium while leading India to an incredible triumph. Scoring 98 off 75, this was one of his best knocks despite missing the century by just two runs.
2. 100th International hundred vs Bangladesh
For many players in international cricket, reaching triple figures is a dream. Tendulkar, on the other hand, amassed 100 international centuries. His 100th and last century was incredibly significant moments for him and the entire cricket community. In 2012, India and Bangladesh competed in the Asia Cup in Dhaka. Tendulkar and Gambhir opened the batting for India as usual. The master blaster played one of his slowest innings. It was likely because he hadn’t scored a century in a while. When Sachin ultimately passed the 100-run threshold, he set a record for the most international hundreds ever scored (100).
1. 200* vs South Africa
In ODI Cricket, scoring centuries frequently is very challenging. A 200 is probably the stuff of dreams for many batters. However, the first person to ever score a double century in an ODI, Sachin Tendulkar, made the impossible seem routine. At Gwalior, India played South Africa as Sehwag and Tendulkar opened the batting together. His innings got off to a normal start. But as soon as he was in rhythm, he began smashing the balls outside the fence. He needed just 147 balls to reach an unbeaten 200. The entire globe applauded the little master as he claimed yet another unique record.
