The top-order batsman has 21 fifties to his name in the ODI World Cup, while the maximum came during the 2003 ODI World Cup, which guided India to the final of the tournament. Moreover, the former India skipper played 45 ODI World Cup matches while accumulating 2278 runs with a great average of 57. Notably, the Bharat Ratna awardee guided India to win the tournament in 2011 after beating a strong Sri Lankan side in the final of the tournament.

2. 5: Shakib Al Hasan in 2019, David Boon in 1987, Javed Miandad in 1992, Graeme Smith in 2007, Jonathan Trott in 2011, Virat Kohli in 2019, Ben Stokes in 2019

However, star batsman Ben Stokes’ crucial fifties guided their side to win the first title of the ODI World Cup in 2019 under the leadership of legendary cricketer Eoin Morgan.

3. 4: Yuvraj Singh in 2011, Steven Smith in 2015, Ricky Ponting in 2007, Mahela Jayawardene in 2007

The legendary cricketer was named the Player of the Tournament. However, Sri Lanka’s Mahila Jayawardene’s and Australia’s Ricky Ponting’s knock in 2007 also played an influential role in the event.
