After a lot of debates and discussions Kolkata ultimately won the race to buy Starc for an unforgettable price tag.

2. Pat Cummins

The Australians have reigned supreme in this year’s IPL auction with the most expensive price tags. The Aussie skipper Pat Cummins became the second-most expensive player in the IPL history with 20.50 crores being spent for him by Sunrisers Hyderabad. Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, the two traditional powerhouses, initiated the bidding war for Cummins which was later taken over by Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Sunrisers Hyderabad eventually came out on top as RCB did not have enough purse to win this bidding war.

3. Daryl Mitchell

The Kiwi middle-order star batter Daryl Mitchell is the third-most expensive buy in this year’s IPL auction following Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins. He was bought by Chennai Super Kings for a huge sum of 14 crores. Multiple teams went for him as well but 5-time IPL champions crossed the final hurdle to win the race for Mitchell who has been in great form recently.
