Top 3 Indian players who were unsold during IPL Auctions 2024

A lot of cash was splurged on players, Indian and overseas, in the IPL auction and teams strengthened their squads with players who they thought would plug the loopholes. But there were some Indian players who could not get any buyers, and, in this article, we will look at the top 3 of those who were unsold during IPL auctions.

Karun Nair

Karun Nair

The experienced Indian middle-order batter from Karnataka went unsold in the mini-auction. Nair has never lit up the IPL, apart from his stint with Rajasthan Royals, but people were expecting him to be sold because of his experience. He has been in and around with IPL setup with multiple franchises but could not carve his permanent place for any of those sides. This is not the end of the road for Nair, he may play in the IPL in the next season, but for now, it is certainly a setback for him.

Kamlesh Nagarkoti

When India won the Under-19 World Cup in 2018 a lot of fans expected Kamlesh Nagarkoti to be the next big thing in Indian cricket. The young speedster clocked around 150 Km/h in the under-19 World Cup which pleasantly surprised those who follow Indian cricket. But five years down the line Nagarkoti has gone unsold in the IPL mini-auction. It has once again surprised many but this time not pleasantly. Nagarkoti must move on from this testing phase and put his everything in what matters the most, Cricket.

Sarfaraz Khan

Sarfaraz Khan

Sarfaraz Khan is arguably the biggest batting sensation in domestic cricket but unfortunately, his exploits in first-class cricket have failed to attract bidders in the IPL. Neither did Sarfaraz get too many opportunities in the last season nor did he utilize those limited chances which has become the main reason for his ouster in the auction. This will be a big challenge for the young batter and it will be interesting to see how he copes with this disappointment.
