The young Indian batting sensation Shubman Gill holds the record for the highest score by an Indian in T20 cricket. He made this century against New Zealand earlier this year at Ahmedabad. The Indian team batted first but the start to their innings was not good as they lost Ishan Kishan in the second over. Gill and Rahul Tripathi built an 80-run partnership to put New Zealand on the back foot. After Tripathi’s dismissal, Shubman Gill continued batting the same way and completed his century. India scored 234 runs in the first innings and won the match in a convincing fashion.

2. Ruturaj Gaikwad – 123 (57 balls)

Ruturaj Gaikwad comes second on the list with a recent century in the ongoing series against Australia. He made this swashbuckling century in the third match of the T20 series between India and Australia. Gaikwad almost single handedly guided India to a total beyond 200 with a couple of cameos from Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma. Although India lost the match this was a special effort from Ruturaj Gaikwad which will be remembered by the Indian fans for a long time.

3. Virat Kohli- 122* (61 balls)

Any list of achievements by Indian players can not be complete without the mention of Virat Kohli. Virat Kohli has the third-highest score by an Indian in T20 cricket. He scored this century at a very critical time in his career. This is the century that started the reign of Virat Kohli 2.0. He played this knock against Afghanistan in the 2022 Asia Cup in Dubai. He had not made a century in a couple of years before this and this was a tough period for him but a player like Virat Kohli does not need too many innings to come back to his best.
