We witnessed the highest score at this venue in the previous season only. Kolkata Knight Riders hosted Chennai Super Kings in the group stage. The home team invited the visitors to bat first after winning the toss. CSK pounced on this invitation and ended the first innings with 235 runs on the board. Explosive half-centuries from Devon Conway, Ajinkya Rahane, and Shivam Dube made this possible for Chennai. 

2. 232/2 – KKR vs MI, 2019

The contest between Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians are at this venue and has always been special. Here is another cracker of a match between the two teams that was played in the 2019 season. Batting first, Kolkata scored 232 runs. Openers Shubman Gill and Chris Lynn started the batting stint with an ultra-aggressive approach. In the later phase of the first innings, Andre Russel came into the picture and ran away with the match. His 80 runs at a strike rate of 200 propelled KKR to a massive total.

3. 228/4 – SRH vs KKR, 2023

Last season there were multiple high-scoring encounters at the Eden Gardens. The group-stage clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders produced another high-scoring thriller. Opener Harry Brook scored a century in the first innings which bolstered Hyderabad’s chances in the match. Later, a quickfire half-century from Aiden Markram took his team to 228 runs in the first innings.
