This win ensured that the T20 World Cup winners took the series 3-0 and continued their proud record in the 20-over format. India’s 297 was the highest score by any Test-playing nation in the shortest format of the game. 

There were a plethora of records that were broken on Saturday. India also went onto an equal few records along the way. One record was the 173-run stand between Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav for the 2nd wicket. That partnership was one of the best for India as far as any wicket is concerned. 

At the fifth spot, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill’s 165-run stand for the opening wicket finds mention. KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma’s 165-run partnership while opening the batting comes in at number. It was in the same game that Rohit Sharma smashed a century off just 35 balls in Indore.

3) 173- runs – Sanju Samson and Suryakumar vs Bangladesh – Hyderabad (2024)  

Bangladeshi pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib got Abhishek Sharma early for 4 with India’s score reading 23. From there it was complete carnage as Suryakumar Yadav came to the ground and joined Sanju Samson and went about smashing every bowler. The pair added 173 runs for the 2nd wicket from just 69 balls. Their partnership run rate of 15 runs per over is one of the best in the modern T20 game for a Test-playing nation. 

2) 176-runs – Sanju Samson and Deepak Hooda vs Ireland – Dublin (2022)

After winning the 1st T20I against Ireland, India were part of a close game that saw them win by just 4 runs. India batted first and scored 225 on the board from their 20 overs. Mark Adair removed Ishan Kishan early for 3 with India placed at 13 for 1 from 2.1 overs. Deepak Hooda batting at number 3 joined Sanju Samson to add 176 runs for the 2nd wicket in just 85 balls. Samson was out for 77 off 42 balls while Hooda scored 104 off 57 balls. Ireland replied with 221 on the board and fell short by just 4 runs despite a spirited reply by their players. 

1) 190 runs – Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh vs Afghanistan – Bengaluru (2024)

Having already sealed the T20I series, India was looking to whitewash their opponents during the final game in Bengaluru. Fareed Ahmed picked 3 wickets including Virat Kohli and Sanju Samson for ducks. Azmatullah Omarzai then removed Shivam Dube to reduce India to 22/4 in just 4.3 overs. Rinku Singh strode out to the middle and added 190 unbeaten runs with Rohit Sharma for the 5th wicket to help India score 212. Rohit Sharma scored his final T20I ton as he was not out on 121 off 69 balls with 11 fours and 8 sixes. Rinku Singh was not out on 69 off 39 balls with 2 fours and 6 sixes. The game ended in a tie and India won after it needed two super overs to decide the winner of the game.
