Both these batters stitched together a partnership of 223 runs in just 116 deliveries they faced, with Finch being the aggressor as the skipper went on to score 172 runs out of 223 runs scored between them.
2. 134* – Aaron Finch and David Warner vs SL at Colombo in 2022
After winning the T20 World Cup in 2021, the Defending T20 World Cup champions Australia traveled to Sri Lanka for a T20 series. In the first T20 match, the Australian team showed their dominance, when they won the match by 10 wickets.
Sri Lanka batted first and registered a total of 128 runs in their allocated 20 overs. In response, Australia’s opening combination of David Warner and skipper Aaron Finch scored yet another century stand on their way to an unbroken partnership of 134* runs, helping Australia win the chase in 19 overs with both batters reaching their respective fifty-run marks.
3. 133 – David Warner and Shane Watson vs IND at Colombo in 2012
In the 2012 edition of the World Cup, Australia defeated India in an emphatic manner when the likes of David Warner as well Shane Watson stitched together a partnership for 133 runs in 81 deliveries.
The Australians, who were chasing 141, finished the task with 31 balls remaining. From 42 deliveries, Watson had made 72 runs, including two fours and seven sixes.
