1. 170 –Yasir Hameed vs Bangladesh, Karachi in 2003
Pakistan’s former top-order batter Yaseed Hameed was the first player to score the most runs in his first Test match. On August 20, 2003, he appeared in his first international cricket encounter against Bangladesh at the National Stadium. He batted brilliantly in the first inning, getting 170 runs, which was followed by a 105-run knock in the following one. Following this, Yasir Hameed recorded 275 runs in his first Test debut, ranking him among the nation’s top players when it comes to runs scored in a Test debut. 2. 168 –Fawad Alam vs Sri Lanka, Colombo in 2009
Fawad Alam was the second Pakistani batter to score a century during his Test debut when Pakistan faced Sri Lanka in Colombo in July 2009. Notably, Pakistan was bundled out for just 90 runs, as star opener Fawad produced just 16 runs in the first inning. Following that, his magnificent 168 in his second innings, however, turned out to be the turning point for Pakistan’s comeback against the home team. 3. 166 –Khalid Ibadulla vs Australia, Karachi in 1964
The very first batsman from Pakistan to achieve this historic achievement was Khalid Ibadullah. On October 14, 1964, Ibadullah played his debut game for the national side as the Australian squad headed to Karachi for a one-off Test match. The star Pakistan batter had smashed 166 runs, while hitting 20 boundaries against tough visitors. Due to his magnificent knock, the home team was able to post a total of 414 runs against the Aussies. Later, the match was tied after a great comeback by the visitors during the second inning.
