3. 6/79 against South Africa, in November 2011

Pat Cummins took his first 5-wicket haul during the second innings of his debut test match against a strong South African side. The right-arm pacer had bowled for 29 overs throughout this innings, conceding 79 runs but registering six valuable wickets. As a result of this, Australia was capable of chasing up the 310-run target posted by the Proteas and prevailing by two wickets. Notably, the Aussie bowler had received the Player of the Match award for capturing six important wickets throughout the battle.

2. 6/27 against India, in December 2018

In December 2018, Australian star pacer Pat Cummins devastated the Indian batting order while playing at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Notably, on that day, Virat Kohli-led India, began the match by batting first and ended with an aggregate score of 443. In reply to that, while chasing, the hosts were all bundled out for just 151 runs. Meanwhile, the visitor’s subsequent inning was deemed over with a score of 106/8 after the Australian speedster grabbed six wickets for just 27 runs. Meanwhile, the home team lost their match by a run margin of 137 as they were again bowled out for 261 in their second innings after dismissing the Indian line-up early.

1. 5/38 against England, in December 2021

In his first appearance as Australia’s captain, the 30-year-old outstanding cricketer Pat Cummins took control and scored 5/38 to give the Ashes series a strong start. Notably, the English team’s first innings was bowled out for 147 as a result of the remarkable right-arm bowler’s efficiency, and the Australians went on to win the match by nine wickets. Additionally, Pat Cummins, who was appointed captain for the first time in his career, led Australia to a 4-0 series triumph.
