Hasan Ali might have made his name in the white ball formats, but that doesn’t take away the fact that he is more than skilled with the red ball. The 30-year-old can bowl all day at decent speeds and is also a deadly exponent of the reverse swing.
The right-arm pacer made his Test Debut for Pakistan during the 2017 tour of West Indies in the final Test match of the series. This was also the final ever Test for the iconic duo Misbah Ul Haq and Younis Khan. Hasn Ali went wicketless in the 1st innings but got 3 scalps in the 2nd innings which included Shai Hope and Jason Holder.

3- 5/45 vs New Zealand – Abu Dhabi -2018
Hasan Ali got his first-ever Test fifer during the 2018 Abu Dhabi Test vs New Zealand. The right-arm pacer picked 2 wickets in the first innings but was lethal with the ball in the second innings. Tom Latham and Jeet Raval were his first two wickets before he got the big wicket of Ross Taylor. The fifer came when Hasan Ali got rid of Ish Sodhi and Trent Boult to end the Kiwi innings at 249 to give Pakistan a target of 176. The Pakistanis fell short by 4 runs as the Kiwi’s bowlers stole a win from the jaws of defeat.
2- 5/54 vs South Africa – Rawalpindi – 2021
Showcasing the old-school reverse swing that Pakistanis were famous for, Hasan Ali broke the back of the South African batting in both innings. This was the game where Ali recorded his only ten-fer in Test cricket. In the first innings, Hasan Ali picked 5/54 with Dean Elgar falling to Hasan Ali for 15 caught by Mohammad Rizwan. The rest of the players were all bowled as the ball swung in late giving a good account of his talents with the old ball.
1- 5/27 vs Zimbabwe – Harare – 2021
Fresh off his 10-wicket feat against South Africa at home, Hasan Ali went to Zimbabwe and picked 9 more wickets in the 1st test which also included a fifer. The second Test saw the pacer record his best figures in the Test format as he picked 5/27 as Pakistan won by an innings margin. Hasan Ali got Kevin Kasuza for 4 and then dismissed Regis Chakavba and Tendai Chisoro before dismissing Luke Jongwe and Roy Kaia.
