Ravi Bishnoi

The young leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi delivered this spell in the first T20I at Thiruvananthapuram to make sure that India doubled up their lead in the series. The Indian team batted first in this match and put up 235 runs on the board. In the second innings, Ravi Bishnoi played a major role in restricting Australia.

His first wicket was the opener Matthew Short who was looking in good touch. Bishnoi struck once against an over later to dismiss Josh Inglis and wrest the momentum from Australia in the run chase. In the middle phase, Tim David and Marcus Stoinis were going strong but Bishnoi put a halt to this partnership by getting the better of Tim David.

Axar Patel – 3/16

Axar Patel’s bowling performance in Raipur sealed the series for India with a victory in the 4th T20I. Axar just conceded 16 runs in his spell which was instrumental as India was not defending a huge total. Patel dismissed Travis Head in the powerplay who was racing off with his destructive batting. His dismissal was followed by the wicket of Aaron Hardie which slowed down the Australian run-chase. Axar’s third dismissal was Ben McDermott which gave India an edge in the middle overs.

Arshdeep Singh – 2/40

Arshdeep Singh

Arshdeep Singh picked up only 2 wickets in this spell but his bowling performance proved to be the difference between the two teams in the 5th T20I at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Arshdeep was handed over the job of defending 10 runs in the last over. He not only ensured India’s victory but also got the wicket of Matthew Wade in the last over. The left-arm pacer conceded only 3 runs in the final over which was a tremendous effort from a young fast bowler in a pressure situation.
