Axar Patel has predominantly been a part of the limited-overs squad for India but he has never been short of impactful performances whenever he has been given an opportunity to showcase his skills in Test cricket. #1. 6/38 vs England, 2021

Axar Patel played in test cricket for the first time in 2021 when he was called up for the series against England. He announced his arrival in the longest format with multiple impressive spells one after the other. This is his best bowling spell and he delivered it in the 3rd test of the series at Ahmedabad. He picked up 6 wickets in the first innings which helped India wrap up the England innings for just 112 runs. The left-arm orthodox dismissed the likes of Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes among others to break the spine of the English batting order. 

#2. 5/32 vs England, 2021

Another bowling masterclass in the same Test match. This is a second innings performance from Axar Patel which completely annihilated the English batting. Axar scalped five wickets in the second innings and as a result of his bowling effort India bowled England out for 81 runs. Most of the prominent names in the English batting unit were clueless against Axar. He got rid of Joe Root, Zak Crawley, Dom Sibley, Ben Foakes, and Jonny Bairstow to complete another 5-wicket haul. 

#3. 5/48 vs England, 2021

One more 5-wicket haul in the same series against England. This 5-fer was picked up by Axar in the 4th and last match of the Test series at Ahmedabad. England was forced to follow on but Axar did not give the opposition any space to make a comeback and this second innings spell was a major reason behind India’s win by an innings and 25 runs. With this performance, he capped off his debut series in an impressive fashion.
