There was a time when the West Indies team used to have quality bowlers as well as some commendable batters who could take the attack to the opposition whenever they like. Let us look at the top 3 bowling performances by West Indies players on ODI debut;

1. 6/22 –Fidel Edwards vs Zimbabwe at Harare in 2003

Unlike the nature of West Indies bowling, Fidel Edwards was among the fast bowlers who was quick as well as had one of the most amazing fast-bowling actions in world cricket. Edwards even had one of the extraordinary beginnings to his international career as he was first spotted in the nets by Brian Lara, who eventually made his debut after playing just one match for Barbados.

In his debut match against Zimbabwe, Edwards went on to register his career-best figure as well as all-time best bowling figures for any playing from the West Indies. Edwards went on to register a figure of 6/22 against the Zimbabwe team.

2. 4/24 –Hendy Bryan vs Australia at Kingstown in 1999

Not a big international career, as Hendy Bryan made his debut in the year of 1999. He was 29 when he made his debut for the national side. Bryan represented the West Indies national side in just 15 One Day Internationals games and went on to pick up 12 wickets.

In his debut match against the Australian national team, he went on to register a figure of 4/24 which is till now the second-best for any player playing from West Indies.

3. 4/35 –Tino Best vs Bangladesh at Kingstown in 2004

Another aggressive and fast bowler from the West Indies, who was known for his sheer attitude as well as an aura that he had around him. He even brought qualities to the West Indies bowling attack that were missing for too long. Aggressive, confident, and energetic, the 5 feet 8 inches Best carries the fight to the very end. In his debut match against Bangladesh Best went on to register his best bowling figure of 4/35 which was also his best bowling figure in ODIs.
