Pakistan cricket team is on a tour to the island of the Kiwis for a three-match ODI series. New Zealand won the first two of the three fixtures convincingly played at McLean and Seddon Park. New Zealand defeated Pakistan by 73 and 84 runs, respectively, in the first two One Day Internationals to bag the 3-match series. The bowlers from both sides dictated the proceedings, as 37 wickets of a possible 40 fell in the first two matches. The third ODI is set to begin on April 5th at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui. While New Zealand will be looking to win the series Pakistan will be vying for a fight back to keep the series alive and ensure the third match is not just a dead rubber.
Here are the top three bowlers who may clinch the spotlight in the series finale.
3. Nathan Smith

The right-arm medium pacer from the Island of the Kiwis has been in fine form in this series. The fast-medium pacer from Dunedin has picked up 5 wickets in 2 matches of the ongoing series. He has been fairly economical conceding 113 runs in his 19 overs. With his ability to seam the ball both ways, he will be a threat to the Pakistani batters in the final fixture.
2. Irfan Khan Niazi

The right-arm medium pacer from Karachi has been the find for the Pakistani team in what has been a forgettable series so far. Irfan’s uncanny ability to pick wickets at regular intervals at the death overs makes him an important asset for his national side. The all-rounder didn’t feature in the second ODI against New Zealand; however, with the injury of Haris Rauf, he may get a call-up in the final match.
1. Ben Sears

The young fast sensation of the Blackcaps tore through Pakistan’s middle order as he scalped Salman Agha and Mohammad Rizwan in an over. He then took the wicket of Mohammed Wasim Junior before putting the final nails in the coffin with the breakthroughs of Faheem Ashraf and Naseem Shah. He became the 9th Kiwi bowler to get a 5-wicket haul against Pakistan. He will be in the spotlight come the final ODI.
