Top 3 bowlers to watch out for in LSG vs MI clash in IPL 2025 

Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya are set to meet each other in the 16th game of the Indian Premier League 2025 season on Friday. The two stars will be leading their respective sides as Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians prepare to face each other at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. So far, the two sides cannot be separated from each other as MI are fifth in the table and LSG are just a point below. 

Win for either side will give them a chance to move to the top half of the table in the first half of the season. Mumbai Indians began the season with losses to Chennai and Gujarat, before beating Kolkata to open their account. Lucknow, on the other hand lost to Delhi in their opening encounter, and then went onto beat Sunrisers Hyderabad. in their third game LSG lost to Punjab to give Pant’s team a huge jolt. Considering both sides have been inconsistent in their form, a win will be a huge shot in the arm.

3- Deepak Chahar 

Former Chennai Super Kings pacer Deepak Chahar has made a slow start to life in MI with just four wickets from three games. Chahar is a quality bowler with the ability to swing the ball in the powerplay overs. Lucknow saw decent amount of carry and swing on offer for the pacers on Tuesday and one can expect Chahar to make use of the conditions with the ball in hand. MI will hope that Chahar can create early panic with the new-ball and gets the wicket of Marsh and Pooran in particular. 

2- Trent Boult 

Veteran New Zealand pacer Trent Boult came back to Mumbai Indians after spending two seasons with Rajasthan. The left-arm seamer was quick to show MI fans what they were missing in the last few years with his first over wicket of Sunil Narine in the last game. Boult is the most successful bowler in the powerplay overs and his penchant to take early wickets will be the key for MI and will make LSG batters wary. 

1- Shardul Thakur 

One player who will know the trade secret of most MI batters is none other than Shardul Thakur. The 33-year-old is joint second as far as the leading wicket takers of the season are concerned. Thakur, has picked six wickets from three games and has been the best bowler for LSG so far. Mumbai batters namely Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav have been teammates of Shardul Thakur in domestic cricket. The 33-year-old has dismissed Rohit Sharma once and Suryakumar Yadav twice in the IPL.
