Sanath Jayasuriya, the former Sri Lanka team cricketer and captain is widely known and remembered as one of the best all-rounders ever. Under the leadership of the Sri Lankan player, the Sri Lanka cricket team was able to raise the baton along with the Indian Cricket team in the Champions Cup 2002. 1. 253 against Pakistan, 2004:

During the first Test match against Pakistan, Jayasuriya had shown an exceptional performance and had driven his side to the top. The team was able to dominate the Sri Lanka tour of Pakistan. He scored a record number of boundaries and showed an exceptional display in the 2nd innings of the tournament. With a score of 253 runs in the Test series, he helped his team score a total of 438 runs. The Sri Lanka team had secured the Test series by 201 runs.

2. 340 against India, 1997:

In the Test series match of Sri Lanka against India in 1997, Sri Lanka was able to make a new Test record, by scoring the most runs that have been scored in any Test match back then. Jayasuriya played a crucial role in tormenting the opposition India team. He was able to raise the score to 340 runs and was able to pose a partnership total with Roshan Mahanama of 370 runs.

3. 213 against England, 1998:

The Test match of 1998 was the only time when England and Sri Lanka faced each other in the Test series. It was again the star batter’s charisma which helped the Sri Lanka team to secure a win, where Sanath had 213 runs to contribute to the team’s performance.
