In 2nd match of the series chasing a huge 328 run score, Faf Du Plessis hit 106 off 98 balls with 11 fours and a six as best friend AB De Villiers hit 136 off 106 balls with 11 fours and 2 sixes. The pair added 206 runs for the third wicket as South Africa won by 7 wickets with 20 balls to spare.

Faf Du Plessis then took the attack to the opposition as he scored his then career-best 133 off 115 balls with 9 fours and six huge sixes before he had to retire hurt due to cramps. AB De Villiers put the icing on the cake as he scored 119 off 61 balls. India was all out for 224 despite fifties by Ajinkya Rahane and Shikhar Dhawan to lose by 194 runs.

The right-handed batter punished all the Sri Lankan bowlers as he found good support from Quinton De Kock and AB De Villiers with the pair scoring half-centuries. Sri Lanka lost by 40 runs despite Upul Tharanga scoring a ton.
