After four long weeks, the T20 World Cup 2024 has come to an end. Team India won the title in an enthralling finale that was befitting the event’s status. South Africa on the other hand endured massive heartbreak as they came so close to winning their first-ever ICC title. 

This year the T20 World Cup was dominated by the bowlers. In the early stages of the tournament, it was tough for the batters, especially in matches held in the United States of America. 

Despite this, there were several batters who showed their skills and stood up to the occasion. There were a few knocks that captivated the imagination of the fans and became part of the T20 World Cup history.

3. Rohit Sharma – 92 vs Australia

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma may have retired from T20 cricket but his batting during the T20 World Cup 2024 was at its best. The 37-year-old scored 255 runs to be the second-best batter of the tournament in terms of runs. Rohit Sharma’s best-ever knock came during the Super-8 stage versus Australia where he scored 92 in a stunning assault. His knock came off 41 balls with 7 fours and 8 huge sixes as he became the first-ever player to reach 200 sixes in T20I cricket.

2. Aaron Jones – 94* vs Canada

The United States of America left a huge imprint in their maiden appearance in the T20I World Cup. The credit behind the show goes to their bowlers but one batter in particular stole the show. Aaron Jones with 94 not out off 40 balls in the opening game of the tournament set the stage on fire as he smashed the Canadian bowlers to all parts of the ground. This helped USA win their first-ever game in an ICC event and also lay down the marker for the campaign.

Arguably one of the best-ever players in the T20I format, Nicholas Pooran was a key part in West Indies making it to the Super-8 stages. The left-handed batter smashed 98 runs vs Afghanistan in one of the most brutal assaults during the tournament and he also helped his side reach the next stage without losing a group game in the tournament.
