Axar Patel’s best batting performance in the IPL came last year when he scored a half-century against Mumbai Indians in Delhi. Delhi Capitals were put to bat first by the opposition but the batting order crumbled. Delhi had already lost 5 wickets for 98 runs when Axar walked into bat. He stitched a crucial partnership with David Warner to guide Delhi to the 170-run mark which enabled them to fight in the second innings. This is another batting performance from Axar Patel which exhibits his ability to show up when his team needs him the most. Axar played this knock against Delhi Daredevils while playing for Kings XI Punjab. His team was chasing a challenging target of 189 runs and the run chase was clearly not going according to the plan. Mumbai posted 177 runs on the board in the first innings and Delhi’s run chase had gone off track. It was Axar whose partnership with Lalit Yadav in the lower order made it possible for Delhi to chase the target even after losing 6 wickets early in the innings.
