Rajasthan Royals made history after winning the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League in 2008 as they defeated Chennai Super Kings to get their hands on the first-ever IPL trophy. However, since then, they have failed to win the title again despite having great players in their team.
Having brilliant batters in their squad, RR also had some great bowlers who helped them to win many matches. On that note, we will take a look at the 3 highest wicket-takers for Rajasthan Royals.
The right-arm Indian medium pacer Siddharth Trivedi played for Rajasthan Royals from 2008 to 2013 and picked 65 wickets in 76 matches for them. He is still the highest wicket-taker for the franchise as many bowlers joined RR but couldn’t stay for long. Trivedi would’ve played more matches but he was banned for 1 year during the Rajasthan Royals’ spot-fixing controversy and never made a comeback after that. Trivedi didn’t even make it to the Indian squad ever in his career
2. Shane Watson
Australian star allrounder Shane Watson is one of the most successful players in IPL. He has played for three franchises in the cash-rich league but found success while playing for RR as he played for them from 2008 to 2015. He took 61 wickets in 78 matches he played for them. However, he had to move to RCB after RR was banned in 2015. Watson played a very important role in RR’s victory in 2008 as he produced many match-winning all-round performances in that season. Watson’s best performance came in the inaugural season where he took 17 wickets and also scored 472 runs.
3. Shane Warne
The former legendary Australian leg-spinner led the RR side from 2008 to 2011 and led his side to the very first title of IPL. His records in international cricket are well-known to the world. Warne played 55 matches for RR and took 57 wickets at an economy rate of 7.27. His best performance came in the first season of the league where he played 15 games and took 19 wickets for the team.
