England and New Zealand faced off in a pool-stage match in the 2015 World Cup and the Kiwis brushed aside their English counterparts courtesy of a spell from Tim Southee where he picked up 7 wickets. New Zealand bowled out England for a meager total of 123 runs in the first innings. Southee’s 7 wickets were a driving force in England’s collapse. Eventually, the Black Caps won the match comfortably with 8 wickets in their hand. 

2. 6/65 vs Bangladesh, 2019

Tim Southee achieved his second-best figures against Bangladesh in the 3rd match of the ODI series between the two teams at Dunedin. Batting first, New Zealand put up a massive total of 330 runs on the board which was a huge challenge for Bangladesh. In the second innings, the star pacer turned up with a brilliant spell and picked up 6 wickets to derail the run chase for Bangladesh. In the end, Bangladesh fell short of the target by 88 runs and handed a convincing victory to New Zealand. 

3. 5/33 vs Pakistan, 2011

Another 5-wicket haul from Tim Southee against Asian opposition was against Pakistan as he troubled the Pakistani batting lineup with his menacing swinging deliveries and wrapped up the first innings in no time. Pakistan could only post 124 runs on the board because of Southee’s phenomenal spell. This was yet another easy victory for New Zealand where Southee emerged as a hero for his side.
