The Top wicket-takers for England in the ODI World Cup

As the most highly ranked ODI squad by the ICC for well over a year ahead of the tournament, England commenced the contest as the favorites. Notably, the 2019 ODI World Cup was lifted by England for the first time in history over New Zealand after the conclusion of one of the most remarkable cricket games that ever took place, which ended in a tie twice. The two sides scored 241 runs in their permitted 50 overs at Lord’s, and they ended up tied again at 15 runs after they each fought for a super over.

The inaugural match of the World Cup in 2023 will take place as a rematch of the 2019 edition of the Final featuring England and New Zealand in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on October 5, 2023. The 67-year-old was an explosive batter, and he has the highest number of wickets in the ODI World Cup; he has 30 wickets to his name. In addition, he was a fine fielder, particularly close to the wicket. Overall, he proved to be one of the most outstanding all-around performers that cricket had ever witnessed.

Former England cricketer Phil DE Freitas played through the late 1980s and early 1990s. Notably, DE Freitas was a stellar seamer throughout the ODI World Cup, as he has claimed 29 wickets so far for England.

Meanwhile, he has a stellar record of grabbing 27 wickets in the ODI World Cup so far. The 40-year-old pacer is capable of producing a significant swing owing to his exemplary control over line, length, and seam motion, which makes him a threat to even the most experienced batsmen.
