The left-handed all-rounder had just stepped into international cricket, and with this unbeaten century, he established himself in the ODI squad. Batting first, Bangladesh had lost three wickets for just 30 runs. Shakib rescued his team from there and scored a century to guide his team to a challenging total of 278/5 at the end of the first innings.
