Samuel Badree’s top 3 bowling performances in T20Is

In this article, we will discuss Samuel Badree’s top 3 bowling performances in T20Is. Samuel Badree is one of the craftiest spinners in the West Indies ever in the shortest format of the game. Not a big turner of the ball but his precision with the line and lengths made him a successful bowler in T20I cricket. Badree was also part of the team that won the T20 World Cup in 2012 and 2016.

#1. 4/15 vs Bangladesh, 2014

4 wickets 15 Runs vs Bangladesh 2014

Samuel Badree always stepped up in major tournaments and delivered some of his best bowling spells in his T20I career in the T20 World Cups. This is one of those performances. He picked up 4 wickets against Bangladesh in the group stage of the 2014 T20 World Cup. In the first innings, West Indies had scored 171 runs in the first innings, giving a challenging target to the opposition. Well, Badree’s spell did not let Bangladesh get any momentum in the run chase. He dismissed big names in the opposition batting lineup like Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah, and Sabbir Rahman. West Indies went on to win the match by a massive margin of 73 runs.

#2. 3/10 vs Pakistan, 2014

Here is another match-winning spell from Samuel Badree in the 2014 T20 World Cup. In another group-stage match against Pakistan, it was he who paved the way to victory for West Indies. Pakistan chasing a total of 167 runs felt clueless as they had no idea as to what was Badree doing to them. In his four overs, Samuel Badree conceded only 10 runs and picked up 3 wickets. As a result of this phenomenal bowling spell by him and a couple of other impressive bowling performances West Indies clinched the match comfortably by 82 runs.

#3. 3/12 vs Sri Lanka, 2016

Extraordinary T20 World Cup performances just keep coming one after the other and that also underlines the stature of this bowler. In the 2016 T20 World Cup, Samuel Badree was the joint most successful bowler for West Indies. This is one of his match-winning performances in that tournament. West Indies faced Sri Lanka in a group-stage clash which resulted in a dominant win for the former. West Indies restricted Sri Lanka to 122 runs in the first innings and the leg-spinner was instrumental in that with his 3 wickets in crucial phases. Eventually, his team chased that total comprehensively in the second innings.
