After over one month of blistering cricketing action, SA20’s 2025 edition is set to end on Saturday. The final game of the season will witness MI Cape Town take on defending champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape at the Wanderers Stadium in Joburg. Sunrisers made it to the finals after beating early tournament favourites Paarl in the second qualifier match.
Sunrisers began the season on the back of three successive losses to be placed bottom of the table. Their next three games turned their season around as Aiden Markram and his side won all three games. Those run of wins were halted with losses to Joburg Super Kings and MI Cape Town. Finally with other results going in their favour and also with their season turning around Sunrisers reached the finals.
Aiden Markram speaking at the end of the game said “Another good night. We are getting there, was happy to restrict them. Good to see guys firing, all coming into place now. It’s a big lift for the guys. It’s nice for them to experience this on such a big stage. Not too sure about the final”
Top order – Tony De Zorzi, David Bedingham

The return of Tony De Zorzi has made Sunrisers a strong unit. The left-handed batter scored 78 off just 49 balls against the Royals. De Zorzi hit 11 fours and two sixes to ensure he put his side on the course to the finals. David Bedingham scored just nine runs but has been critical for the champions at the top of the order several times.
Middle Order – Jordan Hermann, Aiden Markram, Tom Abell

Jordan Hermann scored 69 in what was a virtual semi-final of the tournament. The youngster has been in good form with the bat and will look for an encore in the finals. Aiden Markram has picked his game when his team needed the most and his captaincy has been a huge influence. Tom Abell has been more than capable with bat and ball during the SA20 season.
Lower-order- Tristan Stubbs, Marco Jansen, Craig Overton
Sunrisers have a dangerous lower order with Tristan Stubbs in their ranks. The youngster has the ability to blitz any bowling attack with the bat. Marco Jansen too has been amazing with the bat and ball during the current campaign. Craig Overton has been earning good praise for his amazing addition to the team.
Tail enders – Liam Dawson, Ottniel Baartman, Richard Gleeson
Liam Dawson’s spin bowling has been crucial for Sunrisers and their run to the finals and a possible third successive title. Dawson has also provided enough ammunition with the bat in the last few overs. Fast bowlers Baartman and Gleeson have provided the muscle with the new ball and also towards the backend with their sensational bowling.
