Mumbai Indians lifted their third IPL title in 2017 by defeating Rising Pune Supergiant in the final. The final went right down to the last ball and Mumbai emerged as the champions in a dramatic fashion. In the first innings, Mumbai could only manage to post 129 runs on the board but they somehow turned the tide in their favour in the second innings and defended the target to win the final by 1 run.

Once again, they were defending the target and the target was 150 runs for CSK to chase which was a reasonable score looking at the might of their batting lineup. However, playing against Mumbai in a final is a different challenge altogether. Once again, the Paltan led by Rohit Sharma successfully defended the target to win the final by 1 run.
