Ranking Venkatesh Prasad’s top 3 performances in Test Cricket

India’s former bowler, Venkatesh Prasad, was one of the best bowlers in India. After debuting in 1996, he played exceptionally well for the country. Prasad has taken 96 wickets in 33 Test matches at an average of 35. Moreover, in the ODIs, he claimed 196 wickets in 161 matches, averaging 32.30. In 2996 against South Africa in Durban, he took ten wickets in a Test match, which was pretty amazing. He has helped India win numerous matches, and his bowling action was also good. He didn’t have a long cricket career, but he certainly had a memorable one.

Venkatesh Prasad’s best performance came against Pakistan, where he claimed six wickets in 10 overs. He conceded just 33 runs but took the wicket of six main batters. He was exceptional in the second innings but remained wicketless in the first one. He was one of the best bowlers in India at that time, and hence, he proved his worth. Even after all the hard work, Pakistan won the game by 12 runs. However, Sachin Tendulkar was given the Player of the Match award for his all-round performance of three wickets in two innings and 136 runs in the 2nd innings.

However, India lost the match because of poor batting performance. South Africa won the game by 329 runs, and Gary Kirsten was given the Player of the Match award for his double century in both innings.
