Venkatesh Prasad’s best performance came against Pakistan, where he claimed six wickets in 10 overs. He conceded just 33 runs but took the wicket of six main batters. He was exceptional in the second innings but remained wicketless in the first one. He was one of the best bowlers in India at that time, and hence, he proved his worth. Even after all the hard work, Pakistan won the game by 12 runs. However, Sachin Tendulkar was given the Player of the Match award for his all-round performance of three wickets in two innings and 136 runs in the 2nd innings.
