Ranking top 3 Bangladesh performers from Test series between India and Bangladesh

Bangladeshi players were left in shock as the Indian side flexed their muscles to win the series 2-0. The two test matches in Chennai and Kanpur were a huge awakening for the visitors. Coming into the series, Najmul Shanto was quietly confident of upsetting the apple cart after beating Pakistan away from home.

India in its current form though is a different breed as they can outfox and outplay any team. Bangladesh though had a lot of performances with the bat and ball that will give them lots of positives. The form of Hasan Mahmud with the ball and some of the batting done will be one of the highlights from the series. ‘

Shakib Al Hasan is on his last tour of India as a player. The former Bangladeshi skipper had stated before the game that Kanpur could be his last game. The 37-year-old has stated that if he is allowed, he would love to finish his career in Mirpur although that is unconfirmed.

Here are the top 3 Bangladeshi performers from the series against India

3. Mominul Haque

Mominul Haque

Former Bangladeshi skipper Mominul Haque scored 122 runs from the series with his best of 107 runs. The left-handed batter was one of the few highlights for the visiting side with the bat. Haque scored 107 in the 1st innings of the Kanpur test to single-handedly take his team to 233 runs on the board. Indian bowlers knew the importance of his wicket and that was seen with the way Rohit Sharma attacked him in the 2nd innings of the Kanpur test.

2. Mehidy Hasan Miraz

Mehidy Hasan Miraz

26-year-old Mehidy Hasan Miraz has been a silent performer for Bangladesh both with the bat and ball. The youngster scored 64 runs from four innings with an average of 21 and a best of 27 not out. With the ball, Miraz picked 9 wickets with a best of 4/41 in the 1st innings of the Kanpur game. Bangladesh will take heart from the performances by Miraz with the bat and ball.

1. Najmul Shanto

Najmul Shanto

Bangladeshi skipper Najmul Shanto had 152 runs from 4 innings with an average of 38. His best of 82 came during the 2nd innings of Chennai Test. The left-handed batter batted well against the pacers and spinners. One thing that Shanto will be disappointed with is the captaincy he did. The 152 with the bat from Shanto will be one of the few moments that the Bangladeshi team and its fans will take heart from the test series against India.
