India’s one of the best openers, Shikhar Dhawan, announced his retirement from international cricket on August 23 via social media post. It was an emotional moment for the entire country and the people who have watched him play, especially in the Champions Trophy 2013. He was Rohit Sharma’s perfect partner and played some great innings in his cricket. Moreover, he has played for many IPL teams in his career and performed well for them as well. He’s one of the most reliable players and has some solid records in domestic setup, too. In the IPL, he scored two centuries, which was magnificent.
Let’s rank Shikhar Dhawan’s top three performances in IPL:
1. 106 runs vs KXIP
In 2020, Dhawan scored an amazing century against the Kings XI Punjab and troubled the bowlers throughout the innings. He scored an unbeaten 106 runs off 61 balls, including 12 boundaries and three sixes. His innings were an absolute treat to the eye as he played some brilliant shots. However, the game didn’t go in favour of Delhi Capitals as they lost by five wickets.
2. 101 runs vs CSK
In the same season, Dhawan hit another century against CSK, a team which he loves the most to play against. Again, he scored an unbeaten 101 runs off 58 balls and fortunately, DC won the game by five wickets. He hit 14 boundaries and one six, which summed up his innings. He was a confident batter always, but scoring two centuries in one season is something else.
3. 99 runs vs SRH
Against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2023, Dhawan smashed 99 runs off 66 balls, including 12 boundaries and five sixes. This time, he was playing with the Punjab Kings and was dismissed before scoring his century. It was a good game for PBKS as they won by eight wickets.
